PNP sets up 61 quarantine control points in NCR Plus
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has set up 61 quarantine control points (QCPs) in Metro Manila and four nearby provinces to restrict the authorized travel to and from the NCR Plus bubble during the implementation of general community quarantine (GCQ), Gen. Debold Sinas, the PNP, told President Rodrigo Duterte during a pre-recorded televised briefing on Wednesday.
The QCPs are distributed as follows: nine in Metro Manila, 27 in Bulacan, 19 in Laguna, four in Cavite, and two in Rizal.
A total of 3,652 personnel are deployed in these QCPs.
Metro Manila and the four adjacent provinces are under GCQ from March 22 to April 4, a move prompted by the rise in new COVID-19 cases.
Meanwhile, Sinas said there was also a total of 1,503,273 violations of minimum public health standards from Aug. 20, 2020, to March 23, 2021.

Article continues after this advertisementAccording to Sinas, there were a total of 260,253 violations of health protocols in Metro Manila, 52,211 in Central Luzon, and 34,859 in Calabarzon during the period.
He said the violations were non-wearing of face mask and face shield, violations of the ban on mass gatherings, of the required physical distancing, and of the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act.
He added that the wearing of face masks was the most violated requirement.
Sinas also said the police had recorded 27,513 curfew violations in Metro Manila from March 15 to 23.
The figure is composed of 4,216 violations in areas covered by the Northern Police District, 5,102 in the Eastern Police District, 7,830 in the Manila Police District, 7,008 in the Southern Police District, 3,031 in the Quezon City Police District, and 326 recorded by the Regional Mobile Force Battalion.
A curfew is also enforced in NCR Plus from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
