Manila locks down 16 more barangays
The City of Manila has placed 16 more barangays on lockdown for four days in a bid to curb the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the city, Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso announced on Sunday. The barangays classified as “critical zones” will be on enhanced community quarantine from 12:01 a.m. on March 24 until 11:59 p.m. on March 27 following the recommendation of the Manila Health Department. Residents of Barangays 1, 50, 106, 109, 184, 192, 209, 296, 493, 515, 586, 636, 669, 790, 883 and 875 “shall be strictly confined to their residences and are prohibited from going outside their homes.” Essential workers are exempted from the lockdown.
