Motorcycle rider dies in Cauayan City road collision

CAUAYAN CITY — A motorcycle rider was killed while his passenger was critically injured when their motorcycle collided with a delivery van on Friday night (Mar. 5) along the national highway in Barangay (village) Alinam, police said.
The fatality, Santi Belen, was headed north when his motorcycle swerved to the right lane and was rammed by the van driven by 30-year-old Leo Alvin Pagtulingan, said Police Corporal Silver Jones Galiza, Cauayan City police investigator.
Belen’s passenger, Marnel Collado of Landingan village in Nagtipunan town at Quirino province, was badly hurt.
Pagtulingan, a resident of Bayombong town in Nueva Vizcaya, said he was also headed north and had tried to avoid the motorcycle. He surrendered to the police.
