Court freezes assets of Chinese drug suspects
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Tuesday implemented a freeze order on two of 19 condominium units and 21 bank accounts of a Chinese couple allegedly involved in the narcotics trade.
PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva and Antimoney Laundering Council Executive Director Mel Georgie Racela led Tuesday’s posting on properties subject of preservation order or freeze orders on condominium units at the One Corporate Center in Pasig City and at the BSA Twin Towers in Mandaluyong City.
Villanueva said the provisional asset preservation order was issued on Jan. 28 by the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 37 for the 21 bank accounts and 19 apartments. —JEANNETTE I. ANDRADE
