Comelec still undecided on election rallies

/ 04:32 AM February 24, 2021

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has yet to decide whether to ban campaign rallies for the May 9, 2022, elections with the pandemic still raging. The poll body will issue the campaign guidelines in the last quarter of the year, when the election season officially begins with the filing of certificates of candidacy from Oct. 1 to 8. Comelec chair Sheriff Abas said the Comelec would be able to decide by then on acceptable modes of campaigning depending on the level of the pandemic and advice of health experts.
