House panels seek free masks, PPE for teachers
Two House committees have approved a measure pressing the government to give free masks, alcohol and personal protective equipment (PPE) to teachers amid the COVID-19 pandemic. House Resolution No. 1103 was swiftly approved without objections during a joint hearing of the House committees on basic education and culture, and higher and technical education on Tuesday morning. The measure, filed by Ilocos Sur Rep. Deogracias Victor Savellano, calls on the Department of Education and Commission on Higher Education to provide PPE, masks and alcohol to teachers for free.
