Manila City Health Officer Dr. Arnold Pangan said the simulation exercise aims to let senior citizens know more about the city’s COVID-19 vaccination process, especially since they are included in the national government’s priority sectors for inoculation.

He also said the simulation exercise aims to identify the adjustments that should be done by the local government unit in the actual vaccination for the elderly.

According to Pangan, there are around 157,000 senior citizens in the City of Manila, but not all are willing to be vaccinated.

“We are doing this simulation exercise for our medical frontliners as well. Sila ang gagabay sa ating mga seniors kapag nangailangan sila ng assistance. We have to know kung anu-anong mga issues ‘yung puwede nating maranasan kapag magpapabakuna ang mga senior citizens. At the same time, we have to know how these concerns can be resolved,” said Pangan.
