LUCENA CITY—A suspected drug pusher was killed in a gunfight with police during a buy-bust operation here on Monday (Jan. 25).

Lt. Col. Romulo Albacea, Lucena police chief, said in a report that anti-drug operatives were about to arrest the suspect, Jun Jun Cabarle, after he sold shabu, or crystal meth, to an undercover agent at the village of Isabang around 3 p.m.

But when Cabarle sensed he fell for a drug bust, he allegedly drew a .45 caliber pistol and opened fire. Cabarle died on the spot after police returned fire.

No policeman was hurt during the operation.
