Woman wins lottery using numbers from husband’s 20-year-old dream
A woman in Canada who won the lottery last December did so with a prediction her husband made 20 years ago.
Deng Pravatoudom, a 57-year-old immigrant from Laos, won the CA$60 million (about P2.2 billion) jackpot from the Dec. 1 draw, as per an official release from Ontario’s Lottery and Gaming last Jan. 18.
She has been playing the same numbers for 20 years after they came to her husband in a dream. It was her husband, too, who told her that she won.
“I went to the bank to pay some bills and my husband went to check the tickets. When we got into the car, he told me we won the $60 million jackpot,” she recalled. “He was serious, not joking, so I knew he was telling the truth. I started to cry. I have always prayed for a blessing that my family would be taken care of!”
Pravatoudom came to Canada in 1980 with her 14 siblings. She and her husband have been general laborers for 40 years. The winnings could not have come at a better time, as she lost her job due to the pandemic last year.

“Except for when I came to Canada from Laos, I have never really traveled,” she said. “So I want to see Europe, Texas, Hawaii… I am excited to see the world.” JB
