PNP’s Covid-19 cases jump to 9,809; 52 new infections logged

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) over the weekend reported a total of 9,809 coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) within its ranks.

In a Facebook post from the official PNP page on Saturday, the PNP said that of the total number of infections, 52 are newly reported cases.

Meanwhile, there are currently 512 active cases and  25 new recoveries recorded, bringing the total to 9,269.

The Covid-19 fatality tally remains at 28 as no new deaths were recorded, the PNP said. 

As of Jan. 23, the Department of Health has recored 511,679 Covid-19 cases nationwide, of which 33,603 are active cases, with 467,886 recoveries and 10,190 deaths.
