MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Jail and Management Penology (BJMP) on Wednesday said it would speed up its investigation on Jail Senior Inspector Ramon Carolino, who was arrested over rape complaints.

In a statement, BJMP chief Jail Director Allan Iral said they would “fast track the investigation relative to possible administrative liabilities” of Carolino, a jail officer at Taguig City Jail.

BJMP, likewise, maintained that it does not tolerate abuses against women, especially if its employees commit it.

“The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology reaffirms its strong position against any form of abuses on women and does not condone nor tolerate such acts especially if committed by its members,” the bureau said.

“Any misdemeanors and forms of abuses on women has no place in a civilized society,” it added.

News reports showed that the National Bureau of Investigation nabbed the BJMP official for allegedly sexually abusing his tenant at Pasay City.
