Bicol records 11 COVID-19 deaths on Sunday
LEGAZPI CITY –– Bicol has logged 11 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) deaths on Sunday, Jan. 10, the highest recorded death cases in a single day in the region since March last year, the Department of Health (DOH) said.
DOH Bicol’s COVID-19 tracker reported that the province with the highest death cases was Camarines Sur, with seven fatalities; followed by Naga City, with three deaths; and one death in a still-unnamed area.
DOH reported that on Sunday, Bicol also recorded 17 new cases and two recoveries. These brought to 462 the remaining active virus cases in the region.
The tracker for the period from March 2020 to Jan. 10 this year showed that the region has 3,806 cases, with 3,178 or 83 percent recoveries, and 166 or 4.6 percent recorded deaths.
