Dacera still breathing at 10 a.m., but pulse stopped at 12 noon—respondent

MANILA, Philippines — Flight attendant Christine Dacera was still alive and breathing at 10 a.m. on New Year’s Day, one of the respondents in the case said Friday.
But upon checking on her again at 12 noon, Dacera’s friend Rommel Galido said her lips were purplish and that her pulse had already stopped.
“Una ko siyang nakita 10 a.m. then I tried to wake her up para sabihin na, ‘Christine, lipat ka sa bed para comfortable ka…’ And then si Tin, nakita ko si Tin, humihinga pa,” Galido said in an interview over ABS-CBN News Channel.
(I first saw her at around 10 a.m. then I tried to wake her up to tell her, ‘Christine, transfer to the bed so that you’re comfortable. I saw that she was still breathing.)
Galido said Dacera was sleeping in their hotel room’s bathtub at the time.
“Pagdating ng 12, bumalik nanaman ako ng CR para i-check si Christine para sabihan na umuwi na tayo kasi may work pa ako, sabi ko. And then doon ko na napansin na hindi na siya humihinga, wala na siyang pulse. Breathing niya wala and then yung lips niya purplish, dark na,” he added.
(At 12, I went back to the CR to check on Christine to tell her that we would be going home because I had work. That was the time I noticed she was not breathing and she had no pulse. Her lips were purplish and dark.)
Galido said he woke up their other friends and sought assistance from the hotel’s staff. It was also the time when they took turns administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on Dacera.
Galido, along with Valentine Rosales, John Pascual dela Serna III, and Clark Rapinan all maintain innocence over the death of the flight attendant.
The Makati City Prosecutor’s Office returned the provisional charges of rape with homicide against 11 men to the Makati City police for further investigation.
