Stray bullet hurts man in Dagupan amid New Year revelries; fire hits houses in Pangasinan town

DAGUPAN CITY –– A stray bullet hit the leg of a 39-year-old resident of Lucao District hours after the revelries on New Year’s Day, police said.

Raymundo Dalioan and his live-in partner were about to sleep on the floor of their makeshift hut at 3:30 am when a stray bullet hit his leg.

His partner brought him to the hospital where he was treated.

In Pangasinan’s capital town of Lingayen, two incidents of fire broke at midnight, one in Barangay Pangapisan Norte and another in Barangay Tonton.

The fire in Tonton, which broke out at 12:30 a.m. heavily burned the house of Maria Theresa Aquino, 54, and affected the houses of her neighbors, Enriquita Perez and Gerald Aquino.

The fire was contained at 1:45 in the morning.

The fire in Pangapisan Norte burned a stack of old tires in the yard of one Jose Ferrer.
