DefTac’s Donayre to compete in the Fight ground c’ships

ONE OF THE most exciting mixed martial arts fighter Vaughn Donayre of DefTac Submission accepted the offer of Back Fist promotions to compete in the Fight Ground Championships on Feb. 17 at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.

With a 2-0 (win-loss) slate in the University Reality Combat Championships (URCC), Donayre will face a hardened former professional boxer turned MMA fighter Romelo Esfra of Arcom Jucai.

Donayre, a Brazilian Jiujitsu blue-belter and PanAsian gold medalist in 2010, is fresh from winning over Hans Christian Lamanilao by technical knockout out in round 1 of the URCC Cebu Dominate 7 last Jan. 13 at the Cebu International Convention Center.

Esfra, a boxing instructor of the Holiday gym, is 1-0 in the FGC and is the current title holder in the 149 lbs. division. Esfra is also known for his heart and power inside the ring.

Meanwhile, Joseph Lanuza, president of Back Fist Promotions, said he is planning to add another popular MMA fighter in URCC fighter Alde De Soza.
