Fire hits Barangay Culiat in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines — A fire hit a residential area along Luzon Avenue in Barangay Culita, Quezon City, Tuesday night, lasting about two hours before being put out, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

The fire started at around 8:00 p.m., reaching the first alarm by 8:27 p.m. and the fifth alarm by 9:00 p.m.

It was declared under control around 9:57 p.m. and put out at 10:05 p.m.

Photos shared on Facebook by various netizens, including volunteer group TXTFIRE Philippines, showed thick smoke and strong flames coming out of the burning structures at the peak of the fire.

Videos and photos from netizen Kim Zeta Donaire showed the extent of the fire, as people scrambled away from the area of the incident.

Explosions were also heard in the video, although it is still unclear what caused these.
