Bill seeking issuance of vaccine passport filed

MANILA, Philippines — A lawmaker wants the issuance of a vaccine passport for people who will receive vaccine shots during the country’s mass vaccination program against COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.

Under House Bill No. 8280, or the Vaccination Passport Act, Rep. Ronnie Ong said there was “a need to ensure the unhampered implementation and maximization” of the government’s COVID-19 mass vaccination program. —NESTOR CORRALES
