Relief operations suspended in Tuguegarao City amid rising COVID-19 cases

TUGUEGARAO CITY –– Mayor Jefferson Soriano suspended the relief distributions in the city on Monday due to the sudden spike in coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.

In an executive order, Soriano said the suspension was part of the necessary mitigating measures following reports that health protocols were violated during the relief distributions.

Soriano said the suspension would be effective until Dec. 21.

The active COVID-19 cases here soared to 143 as of Monday.

Various individuals and groups had been sending relief goods to this city after the massive flooding last month.
