Manila mayor orders probe on unauthorized COVID-19 vaccination activity in Binondo
MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Tuesday directed authorities to verify a report about an ongoing COVID-19 vaccination activity in Binondo, Manila.
“If true, this [COVID-19 vaccination in Binondo] is definitely unauthorized since the undersigned has not ordered the same nor is he aware or informed that any national government agency will already conduct the said activity,” Moreno said in his letter to the city health office, Bureau of Permits and Manila Police District.
The mayor pointed out that there is no existing vaccination program that was approved by the national government.
Moreno said authorities have 48 hours to submit their findings so that charges will be filed against those responsible.
