MMDA collects 3,000 cubic meters of garbage

/ 04:32 AM November 24, 2020

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said it had collected over 3,000 cubic meters of garbage from typhoon-hit areas in Luzon, particularly Marikina City and San Mateo in Rizal province, in the aftermath of Typhoon “Ulysses” (international name: Vamco). Francis Martinez, chief of Clearing Group of the MMDA Metroparkways, said it would take several more weeks to totally rid Marikina and San Mateo of garbage and mud left by floodwaters. The collected garbage included broken appliances, furniture, equipment, soiled materials and clothing, the MMDA said. —Meg Adonis
