IBP: Stop sharing gruesome videos of slain RTC judge

MANILA, Philippines — The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) on Saturday appealed to netizens to refrain from sharing the gruesome photos and videos of slain Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 45 Judge Maria Theresa Abadilla as it assailed speculations surrounding her tragic death.

IBP president Domingo Cayosa urged the public to remove from their social media accounts the footage showing a bloodied Abadilla being brought out of her office at the Manila City Hall.

The videos and photos were taken moments after the 44-year-old judge was shot in the head by branch clerk of court Amador Rebato Jr., who later committed suicide. “We decry the exploitative sharing of graphic and gory videos or photos of her brutal killing that violate her privacy and offend the feelings of her family and loved ones,” Cayosa added.
