MANILA, Philippines — Camarines Sur Rep. Luis Raymund Villafuerte Jr. wants to lower the height requirements for policemen, firefighters and other uniformed employees.

House Bill No. 7520 lowers the height requirements for applicants of the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Bureau of Fire Protection and Bureau of Corrections to 1.57 meters from the current 1.62 meters for male applicants and to 1.52 meters from the current 1.57 meters for female applicants.

The measure, filed by Villafuerte in August, will retain the height waiver for applicants from indigenous and cultural communities.
