Bataan village chief hacked to death by cousin

BAGAC, Bataan –– The village chief of remote Ibis here was hacked to death in front of the barangay hall on Sunday evening, police said.

Police Major Michelle Agnetha Gaviola, Bagac police chief, identified the victim as Danilo Panganiban, 34.

Initial investigation showed that the suspect was attacked by village councilman Eduardo Panganiban, 42, who is the victim’s first cousin.

The police said the victim was attending to a complaint lodged in his office regarding a vehicular accident when he was confronted by his cousin for an unknown reason.

Gaviola said the suspect, who is now detained at the police station, would be charged with murder.
