TD Ofel moving west towards Burias Island, parts of Luzon to have rain
MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression Ofel is moving west-northwestward towards Burias Island, and will continue to bring moderate to heavy rain over parts of Luzon, the state weather bureau said Wednesday.
In its 11 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Ofel will bring moderate to heavy with at times intense rain over the Bicol Region, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon), Aurora, Marinduque, Romblon, and Mindoro provinces.
Meanwhile, Ofel will also dump light to moderate at times heavy rain on Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon.
Pagasa said Ofel was last spotted 50 kilometers west of Juban, Sorsogon.
Ofel is packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, and gustiness of up to 55 kph.
