Joshua Jennings was first arrested on a complaint of child abuse, which has since been amended to first-degree murder following the baby’s death, as per NBC affiliate KFOR-TV yesterday.

The baby was allegedly abused in the couple’s apartment by Jennings, according to the police.

Jennings apparently advocates online against physical and sexual abuse of children, tagging his Facebook posts with “#SaveOurChildren.”

Police told the television station that the doctor noted that “there’s no way the injuries [of the baby] could have occurred accidentally.” Ian Biong
