Pregnant woman, companion yield P680,000 in meth in Bulacan buy-bust

CITY OF MALOLOS–Police seized P680,000 worth of shabu, or crystal meth, from a pregnant woman and her companion during a buy-bust operation in this city late on Monday (Sept. 21).

Col. Lawrence Cajipe, Bulacan police director, said Caroline Matavia, 34, alias “Casandra,” who is six months pregnant, was caught with 29 sachets of shabu along the Bulacan State University diversion road here around 11:30 p.m.

Her companion was identified as Ronald Catambis, 46. Both suspects were described as “high- value targets” by the local police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Seized from them were a black bag, a weighing scale, two mobile phones, a .38-caliber revolver, a motorcyle and marked money.
