BAGUIO CITY –– A leader of a corruption watchdog was shot dead by unknown gunmen on Wednesday (September 2) night, shortly after he exited his home in the Mountain Province town of Bauko.

Salvador Liked, a councilman of Barangay Balintaugan, was the secretary-general of Citizens Crime Watch (CCW) Cordillera, which has investigated anomalous projects and contracts in Mountain Province.

Liked left his home to check on a construction project 20 meters from his residence when he was attacked at 8:55 p.m., the police said.

Witnesses saw two individuals fleeing the area. Spent bullet shells from a caliber .45 pistol were recovered at the crime scene, but the Bauko police have yet to establish why Liked was killed.
