SLEx AYG toll plaza to be E-Pass-enabled soon

MANILA, Philippines—The Citra Group and San Miguel Holdings Corporation (SMHC) have begun to undertake measures to make the Ayala Greenfield Toll Plaza (AYG)  E-Pass-enabled.   AYG Toll Plaza services the Calamba-Sto. Tomas end-section of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), referred to as Toll Road 3 (TR3).

With the E-Pass service now available at AYG Toll Plaza, motorists with E-Pass going to or coming from Sto. Tomas, Batangas, can now enjoy faster entry-exit at said toll plaza where there are two dedicated E-Pass lanes, one each at the northbound and southbound direction, as well as “Mixed E-Pass/Cash” lanes,  as another option for e-Pass motorists, a statement from Citra-SMHC said.

TR3 is included in the recent P20-billion-plus acquisition or take-over deal for the 35.9-kilometer SLEX by the Citra-SMHC consortium from the South Luzon Tollway Corporation, the SLEX concessionaire.

The Citra Group-SMHC is also the majority shareholder of Citra Metro Manila Tollways Corporation, which holds the concession for the 16.2-kilometer Skyway System from Makati to Alabang.

The other service enhancement projects that Citra-SMHC will implement for SLEX  include additional lay-bays and reflectors.  They also plan to upgrade its E-Pass and IT systems for swifter movement in and out of the toll plazas and for greater transparency and accountability.

The Citra-SMHC improvement programs for SLEX  aim to achieve cost-efficiency in its toll road operations while further raising the level of customer satisfaction.
