MANILA, Philippines — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) will investigate a barangay captain and treasurer in Dasmariñas, Cavite who were caught having sex during a video conference with other village officials last week, an official said on Thursday.

“Nakita ko ito sa social media na may ganitong kaganapan sa Dasmariñas, Cavite. This is very unfortunate dahil napanood ng mga ka-barangay nung mga miyembro ng konseho ng barangay yung nangyari at the same time nangyari pa sa loob ng barangay hall,” DILG spokesman and Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya told ABS-CBN’s Teleradyo, reacting on reports that two barangay officials in Cavite were having sex during a Zoom meeting.

(I saw this on social media about this incident in Dasmariñas, Cavite. This is very unfortunate because other barangay officials and members of the council saw this at the same time it happened inside a barangay hall.)

“Kaagad agad pa-imbestigahan natin sa regional office kung ano yung mga posibleng violation nito dahil this is a conduct of unbecoming of a public official. Mayroong code of conduct of public officials, mukhang maraming nalabag na mga probisyon sa batas na ‘yun,” he added.
