Old man kills self

A 73-year-old man was found hanging dead inside his shanty in Imus Street, barangay Day-as, Cebu City, yesterday.

Fidel Genson, 73, was found  with a rope tied around his neck and the other end suspended in the door jam.

Genson’s housemate, Macario Oco, told police  he was on his way to the toilet after waking up when he discovered the victim.

Oco, 74, called police, who found Genson no longer breathing when they arrived.

Police said there were no physical injuries or signs of struggle in Genson’s body that may indicate foul play except for the strangulation mark around his neck.
