The house of a 71-year-old man was allegedly burglarized yesterday dawn in barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.
Alex Gaviola of 2nd Street, Maria Theresa Village 2, told the police that unidentified men took two iPhones amounting to P80,000, one gold necklace worth P80,000 and a Tag Heuer wristwatch worth $3,000 (P80,000) inside his house.
Police investigation revealed that the suspects entered the house through its kitchen door by opening the sliding glass window and reaching for the doorknob.
In a phone interview, PO2 Jovito L. Labra of the Theft and Robbery Section of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) said Gaviola forgot to lock the windows before they went to bed.
Police said the kitchen door was at the back of the house and grilled glass window was just beside the door
Labra said the suspects went to Gaviola’s married daughter’s bedroom at the second floor and took the two iPhones, gold necklace and Tag Heuer wristwatch from the bedside table.
