MANILA, Philippines — A new leadership institute named after the deceased Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo will offer specialized courses on good governance and public policy to aid local officials and community leaders in grappling the effects of the new coronavirus disease pandemic.

Leaders from both the public and private sector can enroll in online classes offered by the Jesse Robredo Institute for Leadership and Good Governance, which was officially launched by the Jesse M. Robredo Foundation on Tuesday, in time for the eighth death anniversary of the late official.

Vice President Leni Robredo, the widow of the late secretary, expressed hope that the institute will be able to continue the legacy of exemplary governance espoused by her husband.
