LOOK: Senate all set for SONA 2020
MANILA, Philippines — The Senate is all set up for President Rodrigo Duterte’s penultimate State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 27.
Before Duterte delivers his speech to the public in the afternoon, the Senate and the House of Representatives will first open the second regular session at 10 a.m.
Senate President Vicente Sotto III earlier said the approval of the proposed Bayanihan to Recover as One Act, or Bayanihan 2, on the third and final reading will be the upper chamber’s top priority once session opens.
As in previous years, senators will hold a session in the morning before traveling from Pasay City, where the Senate is located, to Quezon City where the House of Representatives is located.
But due to the pandemic, only a limited number of lawmakers are invited to physically attend this year’s SONA at the House.
