Saturday weather forecast: Isolated rain showers, cloudy skies nationwide

MANILA, Philippines — Fair weather is expected in most parts of the country on Saturday, according to the state weather bureau.

In its 4 a.m. live weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ) continues to affect Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

“Dito sa ilang bahagi ng Katimugang Luzon, at sa malaking bahagi ng Kabisayaan at ilang bahagi naman ng Mindanao, patuloy pa rin magkakaroon po ng kaulapan na siyang magdadala ng mga pag-ulan,” weather specialist Meno Mendoza said in the live weather update.

(In parts of Southern Luzon, as well as a large part of Visayas and some parts of Mindanao will continue to have cloudy skies that will bring rains.)

Because of this, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected over the Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, romblon, Palawan) region, Western and Central Visayas, Northern Mindanao and Zamboanga Peninsula due to the ITCZ.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers will reign over Metro Manila and the rest of the country also due to the  ITCZ, as well as localized thunderstorms.
