Confirmed COVID-19 cases at House now 16
MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives recorded Tuesday two more cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) raising the total number of cases among its workers to 16.
House Secretary General Jose Luis Montages said that the 15th case is a congressional staff who reported for work on July 2 and briefly went to their office on July 6.
“On both occasions, he interacted only with his principal and co-staff members,” Montales said.
Meanwhile, Montales said the 16th case is a member of the House’s security staff who was suffering from renal problems and last reported for work on March 12.
“Let’s pray for the speedy recovery of our confirmed cases and the well-being of their families,” Montales said.
Health protocols are being implemented in the House such as holding of online or hybrid hearings to ensure that social distancing is being practiced.
