Cops net P3.4M worth of ‘shabu’ from 2 drug suspects in Quiapo buy-bust
MANILA, Philippines — Two suspected drug peddlers have been arrested after authorities allegedly found in their possession some P3.4 million worth of “shabu” or crystal meth during a buy-bust operation in Quiapo, Manila City.
Police identified the suspects as 36-year-old Casmir Caris and 38-year-old Montiyah Madaya, both residents of Quiapo.
The sting on Tuesday was conducted by combined anti-illegal drug operatives of the Quezon City Police District and Manila Police District along Norzagaray St., Brgy. 384, Zone 39.
Authorities were able to recover from the suspects P3.4 million worth of alleged shabu, a digital weighing scale, a cellphone, and the buy-bust money amounting to P26, 000, according to a police report.
Police said the suspects will be charged in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Jim Mendoza, Trainee)
