Work continues for QC court employees despite Corona trial
MANILA, Philippines – It is business as usual at the Quezon City regional trial court (RTC) on Monday despite other courts employees’ filing of leave of absences in a show of support for embattled Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona who will face impeachment trial.
A Radyo Inquirer 990AM report said that work continued for employees and judges of the Quezon City RTC who showed support for the beleaguered chief justice by wearing black.
The court’s executive judge Ma. Luisa Quijano-Padilla said that how the court would show its support to Corona was up to the employees.
Hearings and other transactions would carry on throughout the day, said Judge Jose Paneda of RTC Branch 220. But he maintained that court employees supported Corona.
He said that the court was particularly busy on Monday conducting inventories of cases.
