MWSS concessionaires to resume meter reading

/ 04:15 AM May 30, 2020

The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) has ordered two of its concessionaires, Maynilad Water Services Inc. and Manila Water Co. Inc., to “reflect actual water consumption and corresponding charges based on meter reading in the statements of account of customers.”

Actual meter reading resumes on June 1.

The MWSS Regulatory Office said it wanted to ensure that customers only pay for their actual water consumption during the quarantine period.

Maynilad and Manila Water were also directed to divide the accumulated consumption by the number of months covered by the lockdown.

The MWSS also advised consumers to settle their bills before Aug. 1 to avoid disconnection. —Ronnel W. Domingo
