Myanmar provides medical supplies to ethnic armed groups
YANGON — Myanmar’s Peace Commission and Committee for Coordination with Ethnic Armed Organizations on Tuesday presented medical supplies for COVID-19 to the ethnic armed organizations (EAO) in Yangon.
Dr Tin Myo Win, Chairman of Peace Commission and Committee for Coordination with Ethnic Armed Organizations urged the ethnic armed groups to conduct educative health talks about instructions of the Ministry of Health and Sports aiming for the locals.
“We want to urge the ethnic armed groups to effectively use the medical supplies for fighting against the COVID-19 virus,” said Dr Tin Myo Win.
He also warned that Myanmar workers were returning from the neighboring countries. If authorities will not carry out tasks on prevention measures against COVID-19 to those Myanmar returnees, the virus can spread widely.
The ceremony to hand over medical supplies was held at the National Reconciliation and Peace Centre in Yangon. It was attended by committee members led by Chairman Dr Tin Myo Win, and representatives from NCA signatories and non-Signatories of ethnic armed groups.
