Villar group converts Ultra into quarantine facility
MANILA, Philippines — The group of tycoon Manuel Villar has completed the conversion of the Philippine Institute of Sports Multi-Purpose Arena or Ultra stadium in Pasig City into a 132-bed quarantine.
Called “We Heal as One” Center at Ultra, the new quarantine was finished in just three days. It adds to the country’s limited capacity to isolate and treat COVID-19 patients.
“We fully support the government in its drive to repurpose any available government or private structure into health facilities,” said Villar, founder and chair of the Villar group of companies.
The quarantine will be turned over to the Philippine National Police Medical Corps within the week.
