Cop, 3 other people nabbed for drugs

A policeman and three other people were arrested after they were caught with illegal drugs during a raid on a house on Tandang Sora Avenue in Quezon City Tuesday. Police Officer 3 Vicben Padua of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) anti-illegal drugs unit identified the four as PO1 Zaldy Matias, 27, a member of the city police’s Public Safety Battalion; Estrella Sioson, 22; Paquito Eser Jr., 42; and Madel Villandra, 45, the owner of the house. Seized from them were four sachets containing methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, aluminum foil, lighters, 10 boxes of empty plastic sachets and an improvised tooter. Water agency workers ask Aquino to intervene

Employees of the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) have called on President Aquino to relieve the board of trustees and implement an executive order in which he designated the secretaries of the public works, health and finance departments as board members of the agency, in addition to another appointee from the private sector. LWUA workers held a protest last week to dramatize their appeal to Aquino.
