PAL continues to fly out stranded Canadians
MANILA, Philippines — Flag-carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Saturday mounted two more special commercial flights for stranded Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
PAL president Gilbert Santa Maria sent off the first flight, PR-5166, which departed Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 on Saturday morning for Vancouver and Toronto.
The second flight was scheduled on Saturday night.
The special flights showcased the “new normal” personal protective garments and gears of PAL cabin crew, pictures of which went viral on social media. The garments were designed by couturier Edwin Tan.
PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said the Canadian government partnered with PAL to ferry stranded Canadians and permanent residents.
