DOH confirms 2nd COVID-19 case in Caraga region
BUTUAN CITY—-The Department of Health (DOH) in Caraga has confirmed the second case of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infection in the region.
The DOH said the second case is that of a 65-year-old male patient from Butuan City who is now confined at the Caraga Regional Hospital in Surigao City.
The agency added that the patient had no recent travel, however, he had close contact with a relative who attended the six-cock derby at the New Matina Gallera in Davao City last month.
According to the DOH, the patient is currently on oxygen support.
Contact tracing of the patient’s close contacts is ongoing, the DOH added.
DOH Caraga Regional Director Jose R. Llacuna, Jr. reminded people to observe the precautionary measures prescribed by the government and not hesitate in seeking medical assistance if they have symptoms of the coronavirus disease.
