Ilocos Sur is now COVID-19 free

VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur –– Ilocos Sur is once again technically free of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), after its only infected patient recovered from the virus, Ilocos Sur Gov. Ryan Luis Singson announced on social media on Thursday (April 16).

The 55-year-old patient is a resident of Tagudin town’s Barangay Magsaysay, where a total lockdown has been lifted.

But Singson said residents need to maintain quarantine rules to make sure no more transmissions occur.

“I urge everyone to stay home, and follow what the government and the health experts are telling us,” he said in his post.

As of Wednesday (April 15), the province had 11 suspects, who have been receiving medical care in various hospitals.
