Doc says road rage suspect well enough to return to jail
MANILA, Philippines—A doctor at a government hospital has recommended the discharge of road rage suspect Jason Ivler from the hospital following abdominal surgery late last year.
According to Dr. Romeo Abary of the Quirino Memorial Medical Center, the accused is now fit to leave the hospital after nearly three weeks of confinement.
Abary told the Inquirer on Tuesday that he was waiting for an order from Judge Luisito Cortez of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court’s Branch 84 allowing Ivler’s transfer back to Camp Bagong Diwa.
The doctor added the patient was now able to defecate normally after a colostomy reversal was done on him on Dec. 19.
In an omnibus motion filed Monday by the prosecution panel led by senior deputy state prosecutor Richard Padullon, the defense was asked to observe conditions regarding the accused’s confinement at the Quirino Memorial Medical Center.
Ivler is facing murder charges for the death of Renato Victor Ebarle Jr., son of a former Palace official, in a road altercation in November 2009.
