OLONGAPO CITY — The Olongapo City government on Sunday (March 22) locked down Barangays (villages) Kalalake, Barangay Asinan, Barangay Pag-asa, and Barangay East Tapinac to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In his social media post, Randy Sionzon, president of the city’s Association of Barangay Captains  (ABC), announced the “total lockdown” which requires the closure of all establishments, except groceries and supermarkets, and the suspension of all work.

As of Sunday, Olongapo recorded five persons under investigation (PUI) and 745 persons under monitoring (PUM) for the contagious coronavirus disease.

Sionzon also announced that Barangay East Bajac Bajac Bridge (Gordon Avenue) and the 14th Gate of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority have also been closed as part of the precautionary measures.
