Man dies in Binondo shooting; boy, 16 hurt
MANILA, Philippines — A man was killed after he was shot while having a drink with a 16-year-old boy inside a house in the Parola Compound in Binondo, Manila early Thursday.
An initial report from the Meisic police station identified the victim as James Carl Suico, 28.
A witness told police that Suico and the boy were having a drinking session when the unidentified suspect who was wearing a pair of shorts, a jacket, a mask, and a cap, knocked on the door at 1:15 a.m.
According to the police, as the boy opened the door, he was immediately shot in the face by the suspect. The gunman then shot Suico, who died on the spot.
The boy was rushed to Jose Abad Santos General Hospital and was later turned over to Ospital ng Maynila.
Members of the Parola police outpost and the San Nicolas police community precinct then conducted a follow-up operation to identify and arrest the suspect.
