2 drug pushers fall in Quezon, yield P1-M worth of ‘shabu’

LUCENA CITY – Police arrested two suspected drug pushers and seized an estimated P1 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in buy-bust operations in this city and Lucban town on Thursday and Friday.

Colonel Audie Madrideo, Quezon police director, in a report, said anti-illegal drugs operatives led by Major Gaylor Pagala collared Mary Grace Teñido, 36, after he sold a sachet of meth to a police agent and an informant in a drug deal in Barangay (village) Ibabang Dupay in this city around 11 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities confiscated 150.45 grams of shabu with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P1,023,060 at P6,800 per gram.

Police are still probing Teñido’s source for the drugs.

According to Madrideo, Quezon province was now the point of distribution of illegal drugs as there were no more Quezon-based drug syndicates.

He said the illegal drugs which were sourced from different places outside of the province were being sneaked into Quezon aboard public utility transports, particularly commuter vans.

In Lucban town, Rogelio Prescilla, 38, was busted with 7.75 grams of shabu with a DDB value of P52,700.
