College student hurt in Lapu stabbing

A 19-YEAR-OLD college student was stabbed and wounded by an unidentified assailant in barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City last Wednesday night.

Anghel Arpon Jr., a resident of sitio Ibabao, barangay Agus, Lapu-Lapu City, and his friend John Paul Mendoza were walking along the road when two men blocked their path.

Without a word, one of the two men drew a knife and stabbed Arpon in the abdomen.

Mendoza ran after seeing the attack. He sought help from some residents in the area and returned to the crime scene where a bloodied Arpon was found slumped on the ground.

FEATURED STORIES

Arpon was rushed to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital.

Police said the attack could be a case of mistaken identity as the victim had no known enemy in the area.
