Duterte forms ‘zero hunger’ task force

President Duterte has formed a 15-member interagency task force that will craft a national food policy meant to eliminate hunger in the country. Executive Order No. 101 created the Inter-Agency Task Force on Zero Hunger, which will be chaired by Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles with the social welfare and agriculture secretaries as its vice chairs. Most of the other government agencies are members of the task force would outline the priorities of a national food policy “based on a comprehensive understanding on the problem of hunger and related issues, and provide a roadmap for achieving zero hunger.” —Julie M.
